Do you ever think about how different your friend is while driving from you? That’s because every person has their own type of driving personality. While you need to keep an eye on the road, you also need to be aware of the type of drivers around you to stay safe. What are the different types of drivers? Everyone’s different but we can categorize them into a few types as follows.

The Speeder

Some drivers like to go above the speed limit, but they tend to forget that they’re putting themselves and others at risk. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re angry or impatient, but they enjoy speeding for fun or to get somewhere faster.

There’s a reason why speed limits exist; they control traffic and ensure you have control. Hence, it’s always important to drive within the speed limit and ensure no speeders are around. In fact, driving above the speed limit might increase the risk of getting into an accident.

The Slow Driver

Some are too fast, others are too slow. You might have encountered a slow driver; they’re either still learning, stressed, tired, nervous, or for any other reason, couldn’t reach the speed limit. While they’re not dangerous, they could cause traffic and make it hard to switch lanes. That’s why it’s essential to stay aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents with slow drivers.

The Angry-Driver

There are plenty of angry drivers out there; you’ve probably come across some before. The road rage usually gets the best of them, leading them to cut others off and constantly honk their horns.  They’re always in a hurry, sometimes due to being stressed, other times because of the traffic. However, there’s only one thing we need to keep in mind, road rage leads the driver to lose their focus.

No matter what the reason behind their road rage, it’s always better to stay calm if you face an aggressive driver and stay aware of your surroundings.  Take a few precautions, including keeping space between vehicles, changing lanes if there’s an angry driver, and trying to avoid problems.

The Multi-Tasker

While you’re behind the wheel, you always need to stay aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents. Sadly, some people are multi-taskers and end up doing multiple things, from eating to texting and talking over the phone. Either way, they’re not following the most important rule of driving, staying concentrated.

This might lead to serious consequences on the road. For example, they might not focus on the traffic light, miss a stop sign, or even a turn. So in case you notice a distracted driver, you’ll have to either stay away or be prepared to take measures to avoid any accidents.

The Overly Kind Driver

There might be aggressive drivers, speeders, slow drivers, and multi-taskers, but have you heard of the overly kind driver? They’re not common; they let everyone merge into their lane, let everyone move before them. Their hesitation can make them become a pushover and lead to lots of trouble on the road. If you notice an overly kind driver, be patient and keep some distance.

It’s always important to learn about the different types of drivers on the road. While some are dangerous, it’s always a good idea to understand the types driving personalities to stay safe and keep an eye while behind the wheel.
